ARE YOU A WINNER?

Most people don’t realize that how they think will greatly affect their relationships, their career, their health, and their future.  In short, the outcome of any endeavour will be determined by our mind set.

My mentor, Dr. Denis Waitley, one of the world’s great human behaviour experts, frequently mentions the importance of choosing between being our own best friend or worst critic by the way we talk to ourselves.

We can start resetting our minds in the right direction by doing the following steps:

1. Daily Affirmation – Positive self talk is powerful, because our mind does not know the difference between reality and imagination.

My favourite is, “I’m alive, I’m well and I feel great!” Repeating positive phrases like this daily three times in a row will imbed it in our minds and release endorphins, the feel good chemicals, which in turn will improve the way we feel.

2. Be Kind to Yourself – Winners automatically think positively no matter how they perform. For example, if our performance is poor, we can say, “I’ll do better next time.” We can also say, “That’s not like me.”

If we perform well, we can say, “Just as I expected.” Or we can also say, “It’s just like me.”

Losers say exactly the opposite. If they perform well, they say, “I was just lucky.” They also say, “It’s not like me.”

If their performance is poor, they say, “It’s just like me.” Or they also say, “Just as I expected.”
